Powertranz and Genius Checkout
Powertranz is the current name for First Atlantic Commerce, or FAC. Genius Checkout gives merchants one supported connection between their Powertranz account and the software they use to sell, collect donations, issue payment links, or manage recurring charges.
Your bank or Powertranz supplies the merchant credentials and enables currencies and transaction features. Genius Checkout does not replace that agreement or hold settlement funds.

Connect your merchant account
Add the credentials supplied by your bank, gateway, or wallet provider to Genius Checkout. Test and live credentials stay separate.

Install or authorize the Genius Checkout integration for the platform. The connection keeps gateway credentials outside the store or CRM.

Use the approved test mode, verify the return flow and order status, then repeat the checklist in live mode with a permitted low-value transaction.

What you need
Keep credentials out of email and screenshots. Enter them only inside the secure merchant configuration.
- An active Powertranz or legacy FAC merchant account
- The credentials for the selected Direct or hosted-page mode
- Currencies enabled by the merchant bank or acquirer
- A supported software integration or access to the Genius Checkout API

Answers before you connect
Is First Atlantic Commerce the same as Powertranz?
Powertranz announced the official First Atlantic Commerce rebrand in May 2025. Merchants may still find FAC on older bank forms, credentials, and search results.
Does Genius Checkout issue a Powertranz account?
No. Your bank, acquirer, or Powertranz approves the merchant account. Genius Checkout connects that account to supported software.
Can every Powertranz merchant use subscriptions?
Subscriptions require tokenization and related capabilities on the merchant account. Genius Checkout checks the configured gateway mode, but the bank or gateway controls account provisioning.
